So, here's the story on the missing art and if ANYONE knows ANYTHING about this person or where he is PLEASE note me with the info! I want to go after this SOB and legally fuck him up one side and down the other. I do have a lawyer friend looking into him to see what can be done.
Anyway, a couple years ago I approached the owner of a local feed store to see if they would allow me to display and sell my art on consignment in his shop. Kenny (Kenneth, Ken, Kenne)Winnefeld agreed very nicely and told me the consignment percent would be 20%. I thought that was fair and agreed.
Every month or so I would stop in to see if any art had sold and it hadn't. For a while it was on display in the store. Then they did some remodeling and rearranging and he put them in the storage area for "safe keeping". Last year I decided to take the art home since it hadn't sold. Most of the time that I was in there the owner was not there and the gal or guy (young) that was running the shop didn't know anything about it. The few times I actually found the store owner and asked to get my art he was busy with other customers and told me he would dig it out of storage and have it ready for me the next time I was in.
Late this last June I happened to drive past the shop (was in the area and wasn't planning to stop in since it was after closing time for them) and noticed that the place was empty and the gate locked and a pile of boxes, empty feed bags and tarps plus misc. trash was laying inside the gate. The store number was out of service.
So I called my horse shoer (farrier) to see if he Kenny's personal contact info but he didn't answer so I left a message. He called me back this week and told me that him and Kenny weren't on speaking terms (Kenny bought the business from my farrier) but that he did have a phone number but didn't know if it would work. he also told me that another feed store (that I know and do business with) had bought Kenny's inventory and it might be worth a try to talk to the owner and see if he had the art in the inventory and that he's a nice guy and honest and would probably be willing to give it back if he had it.
I first called Kenny but he didn't answer and I hung up on the answering service. Then I called John, the owner of the other feed store and talked to him and he said he didn't receive any art in the inventory other than one framed and large piece of a horse/rider roping a steer (not my art and I know which one he's talking about since I remember seeing it in the store that Kenny owned hanging on the wall behind the counter). He also told me I'm welcome to look through his boxes of inventory, etc. to see if my art was in there. AND he told me that if I actually talked to Kenny to let him know that John wanted to talk to him about the $3000+ of inventory he was cheated out of.
When I got off the phone I noticed that I had missed a call and that it was Kenny. I called him back and told him who I was (got a very terse, "Who?" when I gave him my name) and explained that I was the artist who's drawings were on consignment at his store and that I would like them back. He tells me he doesn't have them and that they're in a box and John has them and then promptly hangs up on me. And won't answer his phone now.
Here's the eight drawings that he stole:
Showing Off, Star, Joe, Taylor, Palomino, Misty, Pole Bender and one more of a palomino but don't have that pic on DevA...will have to hunt for it in my pics. And I just realized I can't post pics without a sub.....grrrr.....
Again, if you know anything about Kenneth Albert Winnefeld (aka: Ken, Kenny, Kenne) PlEASE note me. He frequents the S. California and Nevada area. Possibly Colorado, as well.
